Meet A&D Coaching and Consulting

We are here to help you build successful and effective early childhood programs. Our expertise in training and coaching will help you create professional development plans for your staff that will strengthen quality teaching and caregiving behaviors. We will train on topics that are essential to your team’s success and follow up with communities of practice and 1:1 coaching that will ensure implementation.

With over 30 years of experience focused on Early Childhood best practices and staff development, our consultants have a deep understanding of how to support and improve quality programs as defined by Head Start Performance Standards, CLASS, NAEYC and state Child Care Licensing by effectively utilizing resources to support individual program needs and increase quality early childhood outcomes for children.

Meet Cheryl Angell

Cheryl Angell, Ms.Ed. is a professional who has dedicated over 30 years to the field of early childhood education. She is a strong leader with extensive training and experience in staff management and training. Her experience includes all aspects of the education profession with most focused on
early childhood.

She has worked for independent school districts (ISDs), private preschools, childcare, education service centers (ESC), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), institutions of higher education, Head Start (HS), Early Head Start (EHS), and consulting. She is guided by a deep sense of integrity, commitment, and passion to improve the quality of services for children and families in not only Head Start and Early Head Start but also the entire community.

Meet Ruth Doocy

Ruth Doocy has over 30 years of experience in Head Start and early education management, consulting and leadership.

A member of the OHS TTA Network, she has provided training and process consultation for programs regarding leadership and staff retention, teacher interactions and strategies, data-driven planning, mental health and well-being, emerging literacy, and behavior management.

She has created and written materials for CampFire First Texas and Southern Methodist University that have been used to support parents, as a curriculum for CDA students, and to train Head Start teachers to integrate phonemic awareness and literacy activities into their lesson planning.

Ruth has a M.A. in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s certification in Learning Disabilities and Language Therapy, and a B.A. in Social Work. She is also a registered yoga/children’s yoga and mindfulness instructor.
